Rosina Wachtmeister was born in Vienna but emigrated to Brazil when she was 14 where she attended the Porto Alegre University of Art. When she was 21 she joined an Italian art club in Sao Paulo where she met her partner before moving to Rome and then eventually settling in Capena just north of the Italian capital. The artist still lives here today in an idyllic setting with her large family and many pets including twenty cats which are the source of inspiration for much of her brightly coloured, fun and very distinctive artwork.
